  • Javier Sarmiento: General Manager
    Javier Sarmiento: General Manager

    Javier has been in the food and beverage industry for 32 years. He started his career in hotel management in Orange, CA. He grew his career throughout the years with Hilton, Westin and Four Seasons hotels in many capacities including a Task Force that opened and closed hotels throughout the world. One of his career highlights was opening The Great Wolf Lodge in Anaheim as the Food & Beverage Director. He managed a team of 400 staff including restaurant managers and culinarians. The hotel opened in 2015 with 7 different restaurant concepts across the resort.

    Javier joined CCL Hospitality in 2021 as Food & Beverage Director in Aliso Viejo, CA.

    Early on Javier explored his passion for law enforcement and began volunteering at Anaheim Police Department in the explorer program. He attended Rancho Santiago College completing his AA in criminal justice and hotel management. Today he is still involved as a Reserve Patrol Policing Volunteer with Irvine Police Department. Javier has been happily married to his wife Angela for the past 24 years, they raised their two children Camilo, 21 and Isabella, 18 in Corona, CA

    In his spare-time he and his wife enjoy dancing and traveling. Their favorite place so far has been Germany.

  • Alberto Ortiz: Food & Beverage Manager
    Alberto Ortiz: Food & Beverage Manager

    Alberto Ortiz is an experienced manager of hotels, restaurants and healthcare settings throughout the world. He holds a degree in Hospitality Management from United University in Columbia. He is dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences through strong leadership, teamwork, and innovation. He values communication and employee recognition, creating a positive work environment that drives success. Outside of work, he enjoys sports, reading, traveling, meeting new people, and has a deep love for animals.

    Alberto is a proud dad to a son who now lives in Germany studying business and math while also growin​g his Columbian coffee brand, Polly Coffee.

     Alberto has been happily married to his wife Alejandra for the last 5 years, he greatly appreciates her love and support.

    Chef Yavieshala “Lala” Mitchell brings both star power and exceptional culinary talent to every kitchen she enters​. A proud graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, she has served as personal chef to Queen Latifah and Faith Evans—even hitting the road on tour! Her talent has taken her to the Oscars, the Grammys, and the 2019 Democratic Debate, and she’s worked for the same prestigious companies as culinary legends Wolfgang Puck and Gordon Ramsay. From humble beginnings as a cook at LMU to rising through the ranks to Executive Chef in just seven years, Chef now brings her passion and creativity to CCL Hospitality Group, where she's been making magic for over three years.

    ​Carlos – Sous Chef

    Sous Chef Carlos has been a valued member of the Sun Lakes Country Club culinary team for 27 years. He began his career at IHOP, where he spent seven years honing his skills before joining Sun Lakes, where his dedication and talent led him to rise through the ranks to his current role. Originally from El Salvador, Carlos is known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence in the kitchen. When he’s not in the kitchen, you’ll probably find him on the soccer field—either cheering for his favorite team, FC Barcelona, or playing with his own small team. At home, he’s a proud dad to two kids, a son and a daughter.
