Our wellness approach is fundamentally based on education. Our team of registered dietitians (RDs) provides the most up-to-date nutrition education for students, faculty and staff through engaging Teaching Kitchens, lunch and learns, tabling events, and other interactive gatherings. Our RDs create excitement around nutritious food and show how fresh, simple and flavorful ingredients merge to create delicious and healthfully beneficial dishes. Our Eat Well program aligns with our Food First philosophy and focuses on the quality – rather than quantity – of ingredients and wholesome, naturally flavorful foods prepared with healthful cooking techniques. We feature an easy-to-use icon system that identifies food options by dietary need, allowing students to make choices that are right for them, including vegetarian, vegan, eat well, plant-centric, locally-sourced, avoiding-gluten. Our Wellness Wednesday campaign focuses on educating students on vital health topics in fun and engaging ways. We create recipes that prove that healthy food can be tasty and delicious. On Try It Tuesdays, we ask students to sample different herbs, spices and veggies in order to expand taste profiles and introduce new flavors. We promote the benefits of superfoods and inspire students to try new and healthier versions of their favorite foods.
